WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK WITH ME
Whenever I begin to look into any business, brand or personal strategy, I tend to start with their purpose, intentions and goals. This gives me a comprehensive insight into who they are as a person, entrepreneur or creative. This mainly stems from past experiences with clients requesting creative work before the are clear on what it is they are trying to achieve, and even when they think they’ve figured it out there’s usually more to uncover. When it comes to brand, everything relies on reputation and reputation relies on authenticity/trust.
Since I’m from a family of serial entrepreneurs, any job I take on I tend to treat like my own business and most people I work with end up becoming more like friends or family. I like to work alongside creative entrepreneurs, challenge them to think about their values and support them in creating something they are proud of.
WHO AM I?
I’m Alex and I think of myself as a dysfunctional creative. Someone who is focused on exploring identity and passions to better develop creatively. As long as I’m surrounded by others who inspire me, I know I’ll make some pretty cool stuff.
I’m good under pressure, when sh*t hits the fan and someone needs to solve a problem or a friend needs support I’m usually there. I get way too excited about musicals, any sort of live production and Japanese katsu curry. I’m a traveller and I thrive when I’m connecting with new people in all sorts of places, even if it means sleeping in a hostel room with 8 to 12 others.
I have recently moved back home to Brisbane after I spent most of the last two years in New Zealand living in a hostel, travelling, doing freelance design and brand strategy work. I have a passion for travel, meeting new people and seeking discomfort. I also work on my own creative business projects in my spare time. Dysfunctional Creative is my own social brand focused on inspiring, motivating and connecting young creative people so they can explore their passions, discover their identity and meet like minded people.
My past work has involved running small businesses, ecommerce, digital media and consulting with business owners. Primarily I have been the main brand and design consultant for Movement Health and Fitness in Australia. I had a major role in creating the brand strategy that transformed 3 fitness clubs over 5 years. This has helped me refine creative skills such as; brand strategy, business development, marketing, photography, videography, graphic design, video/photo editing, web design and copywriting.

PURPOSE, INTENTIONS AND GOALS
My first step is to work on getting to know you through interviews, chats and workshops with my team. This will uncover your purpose, intentions and goals that will affect anything we work on together but also guide our decision making and priorities.POSITIONING AND TARGET AUDIENCE
To give us the best guidance in the content we create and the message we send, first we will need to develop a plan for positioning and target audience. I will develop customer persona’s and research into other industry leaders to find where you fit in current online communities.CONTENT/MARKETING STRATEGY - PLATFORM, STYLE, MESSAGE AND TONE
Once we know where you fit in and the message you wants to send we can being forming a content or marketing strategy. This will look at the platforms available to us (LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, tiktok and others.) and the style, sustainability and tone of the media we produce. To be sustainable, I will find ways to ensure the content creation process is something that fits into your lifestyle/routine and is something you enjoy creating.PARTNERSHIPS
Investigating and initiating partnerships will also be an important part of my strategy. I believe it’s more important to be the spotlight than be in the spotlight, this means being the one that brings attention to people, products and services our audience would not only enjoy but benefit from.PRODUCTS
